Who we are

Qattiya is a pickup-sports app for the UAE. Players create and join matches and split the pitch cost. Contact: qattiya.app@gmail.com.

What we collect

• Mobile number, verified by SMS. You need one to create or join a match. Without it you can only look around as a guest.
• Name, and an optional profile photo.
• Match activity: matches you create or join, your position, payment status (paid, cash pending), team assignments and chat messages in a match.
• Notification token for your device, so we can send match notifications and reminders.
• Reports and blocks: reports you send about a match, an organiser or a player, and the people you block (their name is saved on your profile so you can unblock them).
• Card payments (if used): card details are entered on Stripe's secure page and stored by Stripe, not by Qattiya. We keep only a Stripe customer reference and show the card brand and last 4 digits.

We do not collect your location, contacts, or advertising IDs, and the app has no ads.

How we use it

• To run your matches: show who is in, who paid, teams and chat.
• To send notifications and reminders about your matches.
• To process card payments, refunds and organiser payouts through Stripe.
• To keep the app safe: reports, and blocks of organisers and players.

We never sell your data.

Who we share it with

• Other players in the same match see your name, photo, position, team, paid status and chat messages.
• Matches are listed for everyone using the app, with their name, pitch, time and who is in. Private matches show a lock: joining one needs the code the organiser shares.
• The organiser of a match you joined as a guest in an earlier version of the app can see the phone number you gave then.
• Google Firebase (Google Cloud) stores the app's data, sends notifications and sends the SMS code. When you verify your number, Google may check that the request comes from a real device (Play Integrity or reCAPTCHA). Data is stored in Doha, Qatar (me-central1), the closest Google region to the UAE.
• Stripe processes card payments and payouts (only when card payments are switched on).

How long we keep it

• Your profile, matches and chats are kept while you have an account, so you can see your past games.
• Guest accounts with no activity for 120 days are deleted automatically.
• Reports are kept for the safety team; when you delete your account, they no longer show who sent them.
• Card payment records are kept as long as the law requires.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and protected by access rules so that players can only see matches they can open.

Delete your account and data

• In the app: My games → Delete account. This removes your profile, photo, chat messages, saved cards (Stripe customer) and sign-in. You leave the matches still to come, and matches you organise that haven't started are cancelled. In past matches your place stays, without your name, so the organiser's counts stay right.
• Or email qattiya.app@gmail.com from any address with your mobile number, and we will delete it within 30 days.
• Guest accounts with no activity for 120 days are deleted automatically.
• Database backups are kept for up to 98 days and then deleted. Payment records that the law requires may be kept by Stripe.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it (edit your name and photo in the app), or delete it at any time. We handle data under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021).

Children

Qattiya is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
